Required on every PC: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot
Activision says: "TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are required to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Other security measures may be enforced." Its TPM page adds that players who do not meet the requirements "will be restricted from playing any online game mode," and that Call of Duty requires Windows 10 version 22H2 or later, or any version of Windows 11 (Activision Support, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, checked October 20, 2026).
Older CPUs and TPM 2.0
The minimum spec lists a Ryzen 5 1400 or Core i5-6600, but Activision's TPM page lists Intel 8th Gen or AMD Ryzen 2000 series or newer for TPM 2.0, so older CPUs may need a discrete TPM chip. Check the TPM page before you buy.
Other requirements
The requirements page also lists:
- A broadband internet connection and DirectX12 compatibility for all specs.
- Only Intel or AMD processors with the AVX instruction set.
- Extra storage space may be needed for mandatory game updates.
Intel Arc needs Resizable Bar
Activision says Intel Arc GPUs require Resizable Bar.
Laptops
Activision says the specs "refer to desktop PCs," and that some laptop graphics cards are different models and may not be supported. Check your laptop's manual before you buy.
Recommended drivers
Activision lists recommended driver versions on the requirements page and says a compatible NVIDIA driver will be made available on October 21. We did not confirm that driver today, so check that page rather than a version number here.
Same specs on Battle.net, Steam and Xbox on PC
Activision publishes one set of PC specs, and the game launches on PC through Battle.net, Steam and Xbox on PC. The Steam page lists the same 115 GB storage figure. The key is what differs: see which key Modern Warfare 4 uses on PC and Xbox and the release date and unlock time.
