How game key price comparison sites work
Game key price comparison sites do not usually sell keys. They list offers from many stores, you buy on the store's own site, and the comparison site may earn a commission when you buy. AskLoot works the same way, with a twist: you ask in plain English and we show the cheapest price and the safest good deal, with known fees added. We may earn a commission when you buy through our links. Commission never changes which offers we pick or the order of the list.

What a comparison site is
A comparison site indexes merchant prices so you can scan options in one place. It typically does not take your payment. When you click through, you check out on the merchant's site.
AskLoot follows that model. We may earn a commission when you buy through our links. Commission never changes which offers we pick or the order of the list.
The click-out journey
Typical path: search or open a game page, compare offers, open a store via a tracked link, pay the store, receive the key from the store.
If the price changed a lot after you left AskLoot, our redirect flow can warn you and show current options. The store still handles the order.
Where keys come from (high level)
Only publishers (and their authorized channels) issue valid activation keys. Merchants source inventory through various wholesale and retail channels. We avoid unverifiable sourcing myths on these pages.
What matters for you at purchase time is the store's terms, region rules, and whether you are buying a key or an account.
Why prices differ
Prices move with platform sales, regional pricing, coupons, payment method fees, and competition between stores. Two listings that look similar can differ after fees.
AskLoot aims to show totals with service fees and the selected payment fee included when the data allows. Optional buyer protection is not included in those totals.
Fee transparency
Displayed shelf prices often omit payment or service fees. That is why two "same" prices can diverge at checkout.
On AskLoot, card is the default payment method for fee math, and you can switch to PayPal on offer details when fees differ. We do not invent commission rates or crawl-frequency promises on this page.
Official stores and keyshops on one page
Official stores and authorized resellers sit in one store class. Keyshops and marketplaces (grey market) sit in another. AskLoot can show both, or filter to official only.
Use the Safest good deal card, the Official store card when it shows, and the full list when you want a reasoned comparison, not only the absolute lowest number.
How to read an AskLoot game page
Under the title you get a short answer summary, then up to three cards (Cheapest, Safest and, when it shows, Official), then the wider list. Trust tier, seller type, region notes and risk lines sit on offers.
How we rank explains the exact card rules.
